Educator Burn Out

“Educators who work in K-12 schools report 52% are stressed, 52% are burnt out or fatigued, and 34% are anxious”.(1) A full 90% of teachers are concerned with students falling behind. “A staggering 55 percent of educators are thinking about leaving the profession earlier than they had planned”.(2)

Teachers need support. “When teachers’ morale is high, their confidence is high, and enthusiasm about teaching is high as well, students are more interested and engaged in the classroom,” said Kenneth Polishchuk, senior director for congressional and federal resources.

I advise every educator to develop a plan for self care. Part of the plan includes a support network of other teachers and encouraging family they can talk with. The teacher also needs someone outside of that network to assist with learning new skills to manage anxiety and burnout symptoms. I know this because I have several friends that teach in our local school systems, as well as clients who are benefiting from having my help to make changes and learn new skills to manage the stressors.

I specifically offer hours later in the day so teachers can have the opportunity to receive counseling without using leave time. If you are struggling with fatigue, burnout, anxiety, or always counting down the days till your next school break then we need to talk. I would love to help you get back your joy and enthusiasm for life.
